Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Majo Yacht Group collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit majoyachtgroup.com, book a charter or tour, or contact us. It applies to Majo Fishing Lodge and BotesPanama.com. We follow Panama’s personal data protection law (Law 81 of 2019 and its regulations).

Who is responsible for your data

Majo Yacht Group, San Carlos, Panamá Oeste, Panama. You can reach us through the contact form on our Contact page or on WhatsApp at +507 6306-0690.

Panama Shipyard Services (PSS) is an independent company. When you send a shipyard inquiry through this website, we pass it to PSS so they can answer you, and PSS handles it under its own responsibility.

What data we collect

  • Bookings and payments: first and last name, email, country, the trip you book (date, boat, number of guests, extras such as transportation or lodging) and the amounts paid. Card and wallet payments are processed by PágueloFácil, Yappy or PayPal; we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Contact forms and WhatsApp: your name, email or phone, the company you are writing to and your message.
  • Website use: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location, how you arrived at the site (for example, a Google ad or a social network) and actions such as starting a booking or tapping the WhatsApp button. This is collected with cookies and similar technologies (see below).

How we use your data

  • To confirm, manage and operate your booking: schedule the boat and crew, send confirmations and reminders, and handle changes, cancellations and refunds under our Terms & Conditions.
  • To answer your questions and quotes.
  • To keep accounting and tax records as required by law.
  • To measure and improve our website and advertising, for example knowing which ads lead to bookings.

We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers we use

We share only the data each provider needs to do its job:

  • Payments: PágueloFácil, Yappy (Banco General) and PayPal.
  • Booking calendar: booking details are synced to our private Google Calendar so our team can plan each trip.
  • Email and hosting: our website and business email are hosted by Hostinger; website backups are stored in Google Drive.
  • Analytics and advertising: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and privacy-friendly statistics tools that run on our site (Burst Statistics, Jetpack and WooCommerce Analytics).

Some of these providers may process data outside Panama, including in the United States, under their own privacy and security commitments.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Necessary cookies keep your cart and booking working during checkout.
  • Measurement and advertising cookies (Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta Pixel) help us understand visits and measure our ads. On our pages, these tools load only after you interact with the page, for example by scrolling or tapping, or after a few seconds.
  • Order attribution records how you arrived at the site (for example, an ad or a search) so we know which channels bring bookings.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also manage ad personalization in your Google ad settings and your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

How long we keep your data

We keep booking and payment records for as long as required by Panamanian accounting and tax rules. We keep contact messages while we handle your request and for a reasonable time afterwards. Analytics data is kept according to the settings of each tool.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data, and to receive a copy of it (portability). Send your request through our Contact page or WhatsApp. We will answer within the time limits set by Panamanian law. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Panama’s National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI).

Security

Our website uses HTTPS encryption, access to our systems is restricted to authorized staff, and payments are processed by secure payment providers.

Children

Bookings must be made by adults. Minors may join a trip with their parents or guardians, who provide any necessary information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
