When comparing the cost of a fishing charter in Panama, look at the complete plan: the boat, the time on the water, your group size and any extras you need. At Majo Fishing Lodge, prices are per private boat, so the boat is reserved for your group only.
Every trip departs from Vista Mar Marina in San Carlos, about 90 minutes from Panama City and near Coronado, Río Hato and Playa Blanca. If you are staying in the capital, plan a fishing trip near Panama City with transportation to the marina.

Four, six or ten hours?
The four-hour Family Fishing trip is available only aboard the Stamas 39 “Majo V”. At US$900 for up to eight guests, it is our lowest-priced fishing option.
The six-hour Fun Fishing trip gives you two more hours and a choice of either boat, for up to eight guests.
Pro Fishing extends the day to ten hours, for up to five anglers. Choose it when you want to dedicate the whole day to offshore fishing. More time on the water gives you more chances, but no trip can guarantee a particular species.
Which boat should you choose?
The Hatteras 40 “Makaira” is a classic 40-foot sport fisherman, fully remodeled and updated in 2026. It runs Fun Fishing, Pro Fishing and Hacienda del Mar trips.
The Stamas 39 “Majo V” runs the same trips plus the four-hour Family Fishing outing, so it is the natural choice for a shorter family day.

What is included, and what costs extra?
The price reserves the private boat with captain and crew for the selected duration. For Hacienda del Mar, the daily rate also includes the hotel on Isla San José. For other details, ask us to confirm what your itinerary includes before paying your deposit.

A practical group-budget example
For eight guests on six-hour Fun Fishing aboard the Hatteras, the boat costs US$2,100. Add US$300 for round-trip transportation from Panama City and US$160 for drinks and snacks for eight people: US$2,560 before ITBMS.
The same plan aboard the Stamas is US$1,600 + US$300 + US$160 = US$2,060 before ITBMS.

How much does a multi-day fishing trip cost?
Hacienda del Mar trips last two to four days, include the hotel on Isla San José and take up to four anglers. Rates are US$3,300 per day aboard the Hatteras or US$2,700 per day aboard the Stamas, excluding ITBMS. A two-day trip starts at US$6,600 on the Hatteras or US$5,400 on the Stamas, before ITBMS and extras.
The Pro Fishing Expedition is quoted for each trip. The price depends on the destination and on where you stay: aboard the boat, at Hacienda del Mar or in other areas such as Contadora, Pedro González or Playa Venado. It takes up to four anglers to an agreed destination, such as the southern Pearl Islands or Piñas Bay. Tell us what you want and we will send you a quote.
