Half-Day Fishing (6 Hours) FAQ
How much does the 6-hour fishing trip cost?
US$2,100 per boat on the Hatteras 40 “Makaira” or US$1,600 on the Stamas 39 “Majo V”, for up to 8 guests. The boat is private for your group.
What time do we leave?
Departures are usually around 8:00 AM; we confirm the exact time when you book.
What can we catch?
Small and medium game fish in coastal and near-offshore waters, such as Spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, amberjack and roosterfish, plus dorado and tuna in season.
Is it good for beginners?
Yes. The crew rigs the tackle and helps you fight the fish. For young children, the 4-hour family trip is easier.
What is included?
Fishing license, rods and tackle, fighting chair, ice and water, air-conditioned cabin, bathroom, captain and mate, and cleaning and filleting of your catch. Drinks and snacks can be added for US$20 per person.
Where does the trip depart from?
Every trip departs from Vista Mar Marina in San Carlos (Km 92, Pan-American Highway), a short drive from Coronado and Río Hato and about an hour and a half from Panama City. You can add round-trip transportation: US$300 from Panama City or US$100 from Buenaventura or Río Hato.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The captain decides whether conditions are safe. If he cancels, you choose a new date at no cost; if no new date works before you leave Panama, we refund your deposit.
How do I book?
Choose your boat and date online and pay a 30% deposit by card; the balance is paid on the day of the trip, before departure. Prices are per boat and do not include taxes (ITBMS).
